The Kensington CAN is just over a week old! We are ready and raring to make a difference in our community. We now have a strong pool of committed volunteers, a dynamic new local partner, The Creative Co-Lab, a website [thank you for visiting 😉], and we’ve begun to map the needs of our community. We have a bank account and a watertight system to ensure transparency about how each rand collected is spent.
That’s the good news.
On the other hand, we are aware that there are many people going hungry in our suburb. Some of whom are our neighbours. We are also aware that people who live from day to day are not going to survive these times without help.
Our immediate priority over the next couple of months is raising money so that we can :
Provide families in need with a nutritious weekly food parcel - valued at R300 each
Provide Pick&Pay vouchers each week to single people - valued at R100
Support and bolster existing initiatives in the area including soup kitchens.
To do this, we are trying to raise R25Â 000. If you would like to help, please donate.
